Email Marketing Fail: Gocompare

I have just received this email from Gocompare.

I'm not sure why, but it frustrated me that much I wanted to put it on here.

I have used their website in the past, and I'm pretty sure that I filled in all of my details correctly.

go comapre

If you are trying to make an email more personal by inserting names into it, surely you should take the data from the right place?!

How many people are likely to click through to the site when they get something like this wrong?

Dear Mr Edward,

I don't really see what the problem is! :-)

Paul.

It's because you have a reversible name. Maybe consider changing it for something asynchronous...

@Dan, surely you mean to suggest changing for a simple directed acyclic graph? - I've always found asynchronous names to be more trouble than they're worth.
